The Cowork view

The Cowork view is a second project view inside vord. It lists projects stored in the vord Cloud instead of local Git folders. vord keeps the same design in both views, and the agent still runs through its usual CLI behind the chat.

Choose Cowork in the work mode switch in the toolbar: the symbol with two people is Cowork, the </> symbol is Code. Hover a symbol to see its name. You can also choose Switch to Cowork mode from the menu or command palette. Choose Code or Switch to Code mode to return. Each mode remembers its last selected project and reopens it when you switch back; if it is unavailable, vord shows All Sessions.

In the sidebar, Cowork projects are grouped under MY PROJECTS and SHARED PROJECTS. Any project invitation appears under INVITATIONS. For more about project sharing, see Projects & sharing.

Choose Get beside a project in the sidebar to add it to vord. To create one, choose + beside PROJECTS. In New Cowork project, enter a Project name and choose Create.

In the Cowork sidebar, right-click a cloud project and choose Share project…. The sheet Share “” opens.

Everyone with access sees the Members section with each member’s role: Owner, Can edit, or Can view.

Only the owner sees the Invite section: an email field, a role picker (Can edit or Can view), and Send invitation. vord Cloud sends an email with an invitation link. After sending, Copy invitation link appears and copies the link to the clipboard so you can pass it on yourself. The confirmation then reads: Invitation sent to . You can also copy the link. If the button does not appear, vord shows: Invitation sent to . The email is on its way.

Inviting requires an active vord subscription. Without one, vord shows: Invitations need an active vord subscription.

The owner sees Open invitations listing pending invitations, each with Revoke to withdraw it (the link stops working). The owner can change a member’s role or remove a member with Remove. The owner cannot be removed and cannot leave their own project.

The recipient opens the link, signs in to vord Cloud with the invited email address (the link is valid only for that address), and accepts. The project then appears in the Cowork sidebar, where they choose Get to add it like any other cloud project.

  • Can view: open and get the project; your own changes are not uploaded.
  • Can edit: changes are synced for everyone.

Members with Can edit or Can view choose Leave project… in the sheet and confirm. vord removes the project from the list; the local folder stays on disk. vord shows: You left . The folder stays on this Mac: Nothing is deleted.

If a member or invitation no longer exists, vord shows This member or invitation no longer exists. The list was updated. and refreshes the list. If the project is no longer shared with you, the sheet closes.

Local sessions and their cards in the Cowork view open as a chat by default when the agent offers a transcript. Switching between chat and terminal there is saved separately from your choice in the Code view. In the focused transcript, choose For you or Protocol to change how the conversation is shown. If the agent asks a question with choices, select an answer button in the chat.

To learn how to switch modes while starting sessions, see Starting sessions.

At the start of a session in a vord Cloud project, agents receive a reminder that vord versions and syncs the folder for project members. Unless you explicitly ask, they should not manage Git history in that folder or create a Git repository inside a subfolder.

After each agent turn, vord saves a checkpoint and syncs the project to the vord Cloud. If syncing fails, the sidebar shows:

Could not sync “…” with the vord Cloud. Your changes stay on this Mac.

The warning means this turn did not reach the vord Cloud yet. vord syncs again after the next agent turn that changes the project.
